One of a number of artworks created as part of an artist’s residency working with the parents involved with Sure Start Thorntree and Brambles Farm, Middlesbrough. Over six months Andrew worked with a group of twelve local mothers to design and create sculpted relief panels for the entrance foyer of the Sure Starts Offices. Through field trips, workshops and discussions the theme of Strata was identified and this was used to represent the many layers or generations within the local community and the strength and depth of its foundations.
